Real Wedding : Cherry & Barry
I met Cherry at the Braw Brides Wedding Workshop – we made paper cranes and chatted paper and weddings – and I was thrilled when she got in touch about stationery! We met for a coffee and she told me all about their plans for their wedding at the Caves in Edinburgh, plus what makes them tick in general.
They wanted their stationery to reference the Beatles and, in particular, their two favourite songs – Bluebird and Here Comes the Sun. Inspired by our chat and the artwork of The Very Hungry Caterpillar – yes, inspiration really does come from everywhere – I created their Save the Dates (the teaser) with clean white card and pops of colour. Their Zig-Foll invitations followed suit, adding more colour and elements of their story, and then their day stationery added more.
Each table was named a different Beatles song, and I created matching table names and place cards, customised for each table to complement the set – it’s a small thing but I think it goes a long way to elaborating on your theme. To round off the look, I also made origami blackbirds and suns to decorate their cake – beautifully arranged by Betty Bluebell. I love how this all came together and how this stationery really reflects Cherry & Barrie as a couple.
