ZigZag wedding invitation

Bikes, infographics, paper flowers and … a banana

Where the adventure began

So, this is where it all really kicked-off – my own wedding to the wonderful David.

Following the advice I now give to all my clients, I did what I wanted and created a contemporary design that reflected us as a couple – our fun-loving personalities and our love of biking + the outdoors.

The zigzag, concertina format – a design of my own conception – allowed me to construct a layered, woodland scene AND contain all the information in one package. The RSVP postcard was also very effective – I am a great advocate for efficiency.

I also made all the flowers for our day … out of paper. My bouquet was made of envelopes from the letters David had sent me during our six years of long-distance (Scotland–Wales). Rather than sitting in a box under my bed, they are now proudly out on display + always in full bloom. I also made flowers for my hair out of maps – where we got engaged + where we were getting married – and table decorations were made from bike trail maps.

For our thank you cards, I used a photography by the wonderful Sam Stevens of Mirrorbox Photography, who shot our wedding, and continued the ZigZag theme with an angled edge.

It was definitely very us … and I’m really glad of that.  It’s what I now strive for when creating stationery for my clients.
